XLATEX, a DTD/Schema Which is Very Close to LATEX
نویسندگان
چکیده
Our main idea is to change the LATEX document preparation process by migrating to XML input (with eventual LATEX code insertions viaXML processing instructions). To do this, we need aDTD or an XML Schema which is very close to LATEX syntax, so that users do not need to learn keywords anew. The keywords which used to be LATEX commands and environments now become elements, attributes, namespaces (and eventually entities, as long as we still deal with DTDs). The advantage of this method is that one can use XML tools to validate and process documents before typesetting.

DTD++ 2.0: Adding support for co-constraints
In this paper we present an evolution of the DTD++ schema language for XML documents. The original DTD++ language provided support for a large and significant subset of XML Schema while maintaining a syntax closely resembling DTDs: thus the expressive power of XML Schema and the readability of DTDs were both supported in a modular architecture that could rely on a number of validating engine fo...
متن کاملManaging XML data with Evolving Schema
XML databases evolve during their lifetime to address new requirements and reflect changes in the real world. The structure of XML data defined by either DTD or XML schema, undergoes changes to accommodate changing user needs. In this paper, we focus on the problem of DTD change operations which will help users to perform necessary changes to the schema. We propose a set of three high-level ope...
متن کاملWhat's Hard about XML Schema Constraints?
Data description for XML usually comes in the form of a type specification (e.g., a DTD) together with integrity constraints. XML Schema allows one to mix DTD features with semantic information, such as keys and foreign keys. It was shown recently [2,7] that the interaction of DTDs with constraints may be rather nontrivial. In particular, testing if a general specification is consistent is unde...
متن کاملOnce Upon a Time a DTD Evolved into Antother DTD
XML has become an emerging standard for data representation and data exchange over the web. In many applications a schema is associated with an XML document to specify and enforce the structure of the document. The schema may change over time to reflect a change in the real-world, a change in the user’s requirements, mistakes or missing information in the initial design. In this paper, we consi...
متن کاملF2/XML: Managing XML Document Schema Evolution
XML has become an emerging standard for data representation and data exchange on the Web. Although XML data is self-describing, most application domains tend to use document schemas. Over a period of time, these schemas need to be modified to reflect a change in the real-world, a change in the user’s requirements, mistakes or missing information in the initial design. Most of the current XML ma...
